Eastern County Review welcomes clear, well-grounded pitches about rural landscapes and the ways people use and shape them. We are interested in lasting subjects that a general reader can understand without specialist access.
What to pitch
Propose a focused piece about fields, hedges, rural buildings, paths, water or another closely related landscape subject. Strong pitches begin with a specific question or visible feature, explain why it matters to a reader, and show how the piece can distinguish reliable information from interpretation.
A useful pitch
Tell us the working title, the central idea, the likely shape of the piece and what material you would consult. Flag uncertainty, regional limits or claims that need careful qualification. Avoid pitches that depend on invented anecdotes, unsupported generalisations or instructions involving hazardous work.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; include enough detail for us to understand the angle without sending a full draft unless requested.
